How and where did you first meet? And how long have you been together?

"We met on Hinge, and our first date was at Taqueria in Exmouth Market! That was January 2023 so we’ve been together over 2.5 years!"

Tell us about your proposal, how did you propose?

"Mackenzie proposed to Frankie at a gorgeous castle (Dalhousie) hotel in Scotland, creating a “Christmas in July” (Frankie’s favourite thing in the world is Christmas!) with christmas lights, fake snow & a christmas ornament saying “will you marry me”. Frankie proposed back to Mackenzie just over a month later in her hometown in Ohio, USA with a scavenger hunt throughout the town, finding clues from her family ending in a proposal at the beach on Lake Erie!"

What was your inspiration behind your engagement rings?

"Frankie always loved vintage, 1920s style engagement rings and wanted something along those lines and was desperate for a blue stone! Holt helped us combine those elements and make the most stunning ring. Mackenzie was less certain on elements when we first shopped, and just fell in love with the elongated cushion shape and knew she wanted it to be gold band & a very sparkly diamond!"

How did you find the bespoke process and our services?

"Absolutely brilliant, loved the help & support of May and the Holt team. May’s enthusiasm for helping Frankie find a blue diamond was amazing, and Amy was brilliant at communicating too & coordinating us getting our rings. We were a bit confusing coming together and then paying separately for each others rings and we appreciate how brilliantly Holt’s dealt with that and made sure we never accidentally saw our own rings!!"

What was your favourite part of the process?

"Trying on all the options in our first ever appointment!"

What would be your one piece of advice for couples looking for an engagement ring?

"Frankie: don’t be afraid to do something/go for something a bit different and unique if it’s something you love Mackenzie: be open minded about what you might like & try on lots of styles!"
