House of Commons debate Holt Review in glowing terms

Posted on the 10th September 2012

Holts Group CEO Jason Holt’s government review was praised highly in the House of Commons last week during a debate to discuss Business, Innovations and Skills. During the debate, held on the 6th September, MP for the Gloucester constituency Richard Graham told the House of Commons ‘I welcome the evidence from the Holt review that we need to do more to make apprenticeships accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises’. This was re-iterated by Business Secretary Vince Cable who said that apprenticeships had been a ‘success story’ because ‘There clearly is an issue with 16 to 18-year-olds who need to have a ladder into apprenticeships’. The government will now look to implement 12 of the Holt review’s 15 recommendations with Vince Cable stating that the government ‘are certainly going to be working on it’.
