Bespoke design experience 2
If you are considering having a piece of Bespoke jewellery handmade but are unfamiliar with the process, we at Holts have summarized the experience of just one of our clients to show you how it really is as easy as ‘rock to ring’….
After visiting us during an open day we held last spring our client chose Holts to commission a bespoke diamond ring, as they were particularly impressed with not only the finished jewellery in the showroom but also the sheer quantity of loose gemstones on offer as well.
Our client was searching for a ring which could not only incorporate several diamonds from inherited jewellery but also for the design to be unusual and truly unique. Having a strong background in design and architecture it was essential for our client to receive a ring which was the ultimate in bespoke. It had to be a ‘free form’ design, having no traditional elements of previous styles exhibited in jewellery.
Our client met one of our in house designers, Alicja, and had a private consultation discussing what the next steps were going to be, as our client already had a clear view of how the design would look. Subsequently Alicja created five hand drawn designs for the client to view and also suggested the idea of including pave set yellow diamonds along the shank, to compliment the yellow of the two diamonds which were already included in the design.
When they were ready our client chose their favourite design and with their approval we proceeded to entirely hand make the entire ring in platinum. Soon after Alicja presented the finished bespoke ring in a Holts presentation box to the client who was delighted.
