Bespoke design experience 1

If you are considering having a piece of Bespoke Jewellery handmade but are unfamiliar with the process, we at Holts have summarized the experience of just one of our clients to show you how it really is as easy as ‘rock to ring’….

As our client was searching for not only a distinctive design but also one which could have a personal element, to commemorate her Grandmother, it was appropriate that a ring should be especially designed and handmade.

Our client met one of our in house designers, Alicja, and had a private consultation discussing what elements and ideas were to be incorporated into the design. It was decided that it was essential that the final design had to capture a sense of the sea, which her Grandmother was so very fond of, and within that a sense of movement. It was decided that a Blue Sapphire would be a perfect gemstone due to its rich blue colour resembling the sea. This was then surrounded by undulating white gold waves and three graduated round cut Diamonds which produced the scintillating effect of a wave crest breaking in the sun.

Subsequent to this private consultation Alicja created a hand drawn design and presented it to the client. With the clients approval and a deposit we proceeded to hand select the highest quality gemstones and hand make the ring in 18 carat white gold. Soon after Alicja presented the finished ring in a Holts Jewellery box to the client who was extremely happy with the result.

Here is part of an email we later received…

‘It is beautiful and people who have seen it have been very admiring!’, ‘Thank-you so much for all your efforts and kindness in completing this commission and allowing me to get closely involved and giving me as much time as needed.’
